The 2015 Graduates & Career Beach Retreat will be May 22-25 (Memorial Day Weekend) at Sandestin Resort in Destin, Florida.

WHERE: Sandestin is located in Northwest Florida, between Pensacola and Panama City, eight miles east of Destin. It is the only resort situated on both the Intercoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico.

WHAT: Join us for three days and three nights of fellowship, worship and teaching from God’s Word. The five sessions are designed to facilitate growth in our personal relationship with our Lord, resulting in deeper relationships with others.

COST: $225 - Early Registration (due by Sunday, April 19th)
$245 - Late Registration (due by Sunday, May 10th)
Includes three nights’ lodging, speakers, on-property transportation, (2) 4-hour bicycle rentals daily per unit, 1-hour daily usage of canoe/kayak/boogie board, 1-hour free tennis court time daily, fitness center, and resort pools.

SPEAKER: Benny Parks

Born and raised in our own Magic City, Benny attended Banks High School. It was there that his gifts and talents in the football, baseball and basketball arena grew and were highly recognized.

Upon graduation from University of Montevallo, he joined the staff of Briarwood Church in 1984. His early years were spent investing in the Youth ministry both on campus with the Briarwood Youth Group and ministry to area high schools through Stampede. He met his wife Brenda at Briarwood where she also was working after graduation from the University of Alabama. They have now been married for 27 years and have three children, Lauren (24), Ben (21) and Abby (18).

Benny currently oversees Briarwood’s “Ministries Team” which includes Children’s Ministies, College Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Worship Team, Evangelism and our own Singles classes. He provides excellent counsel and wisdom from his many years of ministry, plus he can even teach you how to juggle!

Sunday School Information

Time: 9:30-10:30 am
Location: Briarwood, A-204
The Graduates & Career Sunday School class meets in room A-204 (second floor administration building - "A") every Sunday morning. We will officially start at 9:30 am and have fellowship until 9:45 am. We will end every Sunday at 10:30 am and give more time for fellowship and to get to church services at 10:45 am.
Spring 2015

Topic: Peacemaking

God has given us the blessing of peace in Jesus Christ our Lord as well as the privilege to be about His work of peacemaking. Here we will learn how to live in a dynamic relationship with our family, our church, and the world by learning our role as a peacemaker and being equipped with the skills of peacemaking.

In II Peter we discover how believers are to respond to persecution from without. In II Peter we discover how believers are to respond to false teaching from within. In order for us to not be carried away by doctrines of deceit, we must grow in our understanding, hold firmly to and arm ourselves with the Truth. Come join us as we learn the importance of growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
